You know...

Being called 2 hours before a shift going "Oh, by the way... did anyone call you to tell you that we switched your Saturday for tonite? Can you make it in?" with the tone of voice that if you CAN'T make it in, you're in big trouble... is just bullshit.

Why don't I quit? The couple hundred extra each month is really nice to have, and I'm terrified of the economy. Shawn's company is shutting down in a few months and what if he can't find work? What if we end up with nothing left?

Warcraft, FUCK YEAH!

*caution - extreme nerd moment*

My World of Warcraft Death Knight is about the coolest thing EVER. I'm all "Hey Lich King, what's going down?" and he's all like "UR HOT, Go kill some stuff IN MAH EPIC NAME!"

So I do.

And then he's all "GO KILL PEEPS AT A CHURCH!" and I'm like "Your wish is my command, for your epicness is too much to deny!" and then this paladin at the church is like "I WTF OWN YOU!" and the Lich King is like "DAMN! WHY IS THIS CHURCH ON HOLY GROUND?!" and runs away. So much for his unspeakable epicness.

So then the Paladin is like "O HAI, I know you're undead scourge and all, but you should totally serve the light and go back to the Alliance" and so I'm all "O... K."

So then I teleport to OMG STORMWIND CITEH with a message for the king, and the guards are like "I PH33R YOUR EPIC, SO I SPIT ON YOU AND THROW THINGS AT YOU!" and I'm all "OIC.", then I get to the king and he's all "I KILL YOU! What's this? A letter from a Paladin in a small church somewhere on holy ground?! I TAKE YOUR WORD FOR IT!" and then BAM! A zillion faction increase with Stormwind, the king is all like "Hold up guys, stop spitting on her, she's kinda hot." and badda bing, I R ALLIANCE!!!

... w00t!

It's been ages

BUT I have a project and I need your help, loves.

Repo! The Genetic Opera. My god, what an incredible movie. We need help getting the word out!

The soundtrack will be available on September 30th... it's fucking incredible. If you want to listen to it before committing to buying, you can hear a sampler - CLICK HERE :)

So you love it? I knew you would. Pre-order it here!

Now a few words about the cast:

First and foremost, I know Paris Hilton may be a turnoff to a lot of you. I've learned a LOT about her in the last couple of weeks, the first bit being that my god... she actually does have a bit of talent! The next is that she's been working very hard to promote Repo - she's throwing a great party for the soundtrack release in LA... and Bill Moseley and Darren Bousman and Terrance Zdunich all swore that she was really fun to work with. Darren even told me a story about standing behind a building having a cigarette during filming, and she came out to talk to him... and you know some paparazzi came through... then the next day on TMZ there was a big fuss about Paris smoking pot.

It all makes me wonder how much I've seen about her is actually true.

Terrance Zdunich as Graverobber... holy COW. Terrance steals every scene he's in... Graverobber is almost the narrator, appearing in the plot where he needs to. Not only that, but he composed the whole thing and has an INCREDIBLE voice. And you know... he's so nice to look at.

I don't think I need to tell you that Anthony Head as Nathan Wallace / Repo Man was fucking wonderful... but just in case... HE WAS FUCKING WONDERFUL.

And the last closing deal about the cast for me (because everyone else was good, and this is the only other one besides Paris I had my doubts about initially), Alexa Vega of Spy Kids fame. Terrance sought her out while she was singing in Hairspray on Broadway. Just from the clips I wasn't too impressed with her, but when I saw the movie as a whole, she was really really good. She even got to share a scene with Joan Jett!!!

Everyone, do me a favor and have a look, tell your friends... the more albums we sell, the bigger release this thing will get. It'll likely go to the Drafthouse in Austin, but we still don't know for sure yet. I think it's scheduled to release in five cities right now. Lionsgate doesn't understand how wrong they are, but they will!

Check out the website, register on the forums, join the Repo Army!!! There are clips from the movie to check out (I suggest starting with Zydrate Anatomy!)

http://www.repo-opera.com

Mucho love darlings!

-Raini*

Yesterday was beautiful

Because it basically didn't exist for me.

I have this fear, this suffocating, all consuming fear of the dentist. Literally, not metaphorically. I'd been biting the bullet and going the last couple of weeks to get my teeth cleaned and have this utterly terrifying deep gum cleaning thing... and I had a couple of cavities they needed to fill.

*sigh*

So, they call in a prescription for... fucking... I think it was Lorazepam. I took two the nite before, two the morning of and by the time I got there... I felt like I'd had three bottles of wine. So they put me in a comfy chair, give me a blanket, turn on soothing music, give me some form of disgusting red cocktail drink... the next thing I know Shawn's helping me out of the chair... we're walking towards the elevator and I'm like "Hold on, I have to pee."

I go into the lady's room, lock the stall and realize my bra straps are falling down. Instead of not caring, like I usually would, since I was going home anyways, I strip off my shirt adjust my bra straps, put my shirt back on, pee, and then stand there waiting on the hot water from the tap to wash my hands from.

I got home at about 12:30 p.m. and Shawn said "Oh look honey! I think your soap opera is still on. You can lay down and watch it and I'll go get your prescription," and apparently at some point on the drive home I'd given him money for it, I don't remember that. So I lie down on the couch and go to sleep, and Shawn gets home and takes me up to bed.

I wake up at about five p.m. FREAKING OUT because I thought I'd missed my dentist appointment.

So I spent the rest of the day lolling around, trying to remember if I'd eaten anything and watching Absolutely Fabulous on dvd.

Yesterday fucking ruled.

No matter how hard I try...

I was having such a wonderful time with myself.

I finally feel like I'm on the right path (so to speak). I'm starting up with my small business, I'm donating a percentage of all my sales to SOS Children's Villages, I'm helping to promote Toms Shoes wherever I can, and I was so very inspired over the last few weeks I feel like my heart will burst.

I had a wonderful time at the concert this weekend... and Zac Hanson is the sweetest person ALIVE. He is genuine, and kind and funny and I just adore him. He loves his fans, he gave me his full attention and made me feel like what I was saying was very important to him. He petted our dogs, told off a driver who yelled at us, and took pictures with everyone who asked. I like him SO much.

So I called my mom, because I wanted to share my inspiring weekend and my big plans with her... and she simply did not care. I could hardly get her attention away from her TV. I should have known better than to invest any kind of emotional stock in a conversation with her. I'm really tired of letting her let me down over and over.

Is what I'm doing incredibly ridiculous? Worth no pride from my mother? I just want to leave a mark on the world, and I want to make a difference to someone, and I want my mom to be proud of me. Her complete indifference is very very painful.

If you're going to get a flat tire, do it outside of Discount Tire Co.

Believe me, I did it this morning... and from now on I will never ever get a flat anywhere else other than right outside Discount Tire.

Had a pretty normal week, although it seemed LOOONG. Went to work, came home and played couch commando, played with the dogs, talked to some friends, made some prop bags for the show, made some plans for tomorrow with Brittany. We're going to the bridal EXTRAVAGANZA! tomorrow to get ideas for her wedding and Bobbi and Tre's wedding.

So my dad told my grandmother that we weren't coming to the 50th wedding anniversary, but he told them that we had to work. Now, I'm glad that he told them for us so that we could avoid a scene, but I don't understand why he lied. They know why we aren't coming, what's the point of telling them something else? Fuck them if they want that sheep fucking loser there instead of their successful grandkids. I don't care that much, it's just insulting to everyone involved... except Lance of course.

By the way, I fucking love my husband. He's such a hilarious, adorable person. He does almost anything I ask, and takes care of everything I need. I love him love him.

le sigh...

So it was an interesting week.

Actually it was quite boring until Wednesday, when we had the officers meeting.

For those of you not on my cast, I was beaten out this last election in May after six fruitful, productive months as cast director by Shannon. Shannon had been cast director once before, and completely blew it by disappearing a couple of months into term.

Well apparently, I was running too tight a ship, so Shannon's promises of a relaxed cast seemed like a dream come true to some people, and she was elected. She was fine for about two weeks... and then it all... fell... apart.

Nobody can ever get ahold of her, she usually puts up an initial cast list around Wednesday and never touches it after that... and has just been generally unhelpful in every aspect of the cast that I can think of.

Labor day weekend, Shawn and I went out of town to the beach. All the cast costumes and props are stored in my garage... one of our tech directors lives down the street so if any of the large props need repair, he can take care of it easily... and I wash and repair all of the costumes on a continuous basis. Penguin, the tech director, was out of town. Bobbi, the other tech director, was out of town. Brittany, the assistant cast director was unavailable because her fiance's parents were in town. But none of us were worried, because the cast director was going to be there. She and Alex, the ex tech director were to swing by my house, use the code to get into the garage and take everything to the show.

Well, apparently the code (that my brother had been using to get into the house to feed my cats until Summer gave him her spare key) was not working. So, Alex called Penguin, because apparently nobody wanted to call me. Apparently I said I wouldn't answer my phone under any circumstances (you can see the way things get distorted around casts), but Penguin called me and after we assured him the code was correct and there was no security system locking them out, I didn't hear back. Naturally, we assumed everything was fine.

That was not so.

Penguin tried to call Alex back. Alex did not answer. They actually went to the show with no props and no costumes. When we got home, we tried the code on the garage keypad. It worked.

So, as a result of the communication breakdowns that were obviously occurring on cast, I posted in the officer forums about it.

And then all hell broke loose.

ALL of the officers converged on the thread to concur with me. Brittany has been doing FAR more than her share of the work... even that weekend when she was begging for cast members to play because so many people were out of town, Shannon refused to a. play or b. help her with the cast list at all. She didn't even stay for the ghetto-ass show... she just told everyone the news and then left them to fend for themselves. Needless to say, we were very very pissed when we heard about it.

So we decided to hold an officer meeting at Bennigan's on Wednesday. Shannon showed up 40 minutes later (which we knew she was going to be late) with her kiddo, Willow in tow. We had dinner, and then had our meeting. Meeting is putting it nicely. It was sort of more of a "Shannon, this is where you're fucking up and how to fix it" kind of thing. So, naturally she was horribly pissed off by the time she left.

Well this weekend we had the QueerBastards show, which Bobbi is technically in charge of. So Shannon (who wasn't cast) actually called Bobbi to ask if she had to come to the show.

SdfJD*&(*DFKJSDFDSIYFDSIUHE#OJUR($!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111ONE!!1

So... I can't wait for this term to be the hell over. It's fucking up my universe. I feel awful for Brittany... a wedding to plan, special shows to get together, Halloween coming up... and she's been taking care of the regular shows too. I wouldn't be half as mad about it all if Brittany weren't having a heart attack over all of her responsibilities.

*sigh*

I want to sleep, but that just means it will be Monday faster. And then it will be Friday faster, and that's the day that I'm sure I'll have to sit down and make a hundred prop bags by myself after work. Rah.

HOLY FUCKING HELL, it never ends.

I went to Culver's for lunch, read my book, had an excellent time and I was walking to my car. This retarded bitch parked next to me, got out of her car, looked me up and down, and said "You know, people like you are ruining society."

Man. I can't fucking get away from it. I don't bother anyone, I have a job, I pay my taxes. So I said "Well I think it's attitudes like yours that are ruining society." and then got in my car and left.

I was just walking to my car!!! FUCK. God dammit. I cannot wait to get drunk.
